I've been wanting to share some snippets of our holidays with you here, and I've finally gotten some photos together (one month later!)
We spent Christmas in Mammoth Lakes CA, and it was beautiful. Being a midwesterner, I'm so grateful to be experiencing the west and all it has to offer. California alone is such a huge and diverse state, and I was lucky to have the opportunity to drive several parts of it last year: the central coast, down to San Diego, the desert, and finally the mountains!
Stopping to put on chains was a new experience- Yeah, I'm from the midwest, and we're no strangers to snow, but there it's salt, sand, and gritting your teeth as the back end of your car swerves on the road.
There was hardly a flake in sight when we had to stop and then a few miles down the road- Wham-O! Instant blizzard!
Rita is looking a bit apprehensive here- this was her first glimpse of cold and snow and we found out she is not a fan- a true southern California dog!
By the time we got to our place, Mammoth was a magical winter land. Such a beautiful place- can't wait for the next road trip to the mountains!
