summer sherbet

As the temperature rises, nothing cools you down better than some summer sherbet-y colors. (Kind of in love with that cotton candy hair- wish I had the nerve to pull it off!)

She's a career spy that would never let anything cramp her style. Meet Malory Archer: Director of ISIS and mother of Sterling. Pick up some of her secret (agent) style won't you?

And for fun go check out the opening titles for Archer. Love them.

{wearing} a pop of yellow

Two things that grabbed my attention this week were these bright yellow shoes in the Madewell catalog, and this yellow bangle watch from Kate Spade. Oh- and I've been wearing my thrifted yellow jeans like a mad woman.
If you're going to buy one thing this season, I urge you to go for the yellow pants. You won't regret it. Too much? Then sprinkle in a few pops of yellow here and there. You'll be surprised by how neutral such a bright color can be with your wardrobe staples.

california dreaming

I was just telling my friend Steven last night how much I dig the style of California girls. It's so effortless, and unafraid to be boarder line quirky while still staying absolutely chic.

And now that I live in LA, I love love love photo shoots with LA as the background. Like this one shot by Leo Frumbacher.

alexa chung for madewell

I'm really loving the Alexa Chung for Madewell collection, but what really captured my heart was the collection's fashion photography. I grew up in Iowa, and these images are like a window into my romantic memories of childhood. Especially the rural areas that surrounded my hometown of Dubuque.

Except, you know, my high school friends and I probably would have been carrying a 6-pack of beer down those train tracks.
